tucked in a corner

after eating...
gravy left on my plate
is buzzed by a black fly

evening blues...

behind chain-link fencing

daffodils nodding

dull and drizzly

a child asks, “why

are the clouds crying”

a quick swirl

and... the crows tumble

into their roost

navy-blue twilight

a slinking black cat

sticks close to the wall
