the train window’s raindrops

slowly disappear

quiet evening—

contrails fade into

sun-filled clouds

clouds brim with light...

on the lawn a squirrel
& a rolling leaf

        stillness by the river...

        a kingfisher’s blue streak

        colours the day’s end

    an evening at rest—

    a leaf tumbles into the river

    and becomes a boat

wind & rain

in a web leaf & spider

                   trapped?
