river walk

the cooling tower’s steam

joins a white cloud

again delayed

the train window’s raindrops

slowly disappear

quiet evening—

contrails fade into

sun-filled clouds

clouds brim with light...

on the lawn a squirrel
& a rolling leaf

        stillness by the river...

        a kingfisher’s blue streak

        colours the day’s end

    an evening at rest—

    a leaf tumbles into the river

    and becomes a boat

wind & rain

in a web leaf & spider

                   trapped?

as yesterday

sunday morning

an anger of smashed glass

early morning—

lost in muffle

the spider seems to exist

as a blurred world

in the distance...

the setting sun turns

a high-rise gold

silent wings—

two crows alight in sync

on separate aerials

during a heat wave

for a instant the lake

is pea-green soup

circular ripples...

a coot’s bald head

nods to the surface

slow motion—

green algae rolls over

a duck’s white chest

after a sad film

a yellow crescent moon

in a black sky
