morning mist 

mind & eyes follow

a falling leaf

SEASON'S GREETINGS!

from the train...
through thick fog a drift
of birds on the wing

mid-morning stillness...

bright dewdrops cling

to the washing line

sunlit path—snaking
around dying leaves
miles of snail trails

i say stop

with eyes closed

just a crisp tick-tock

twitchers' silence

a kingfisher’s blue ember

sparks right to left
