Devika: yes, you are right the photo was taken at about four in the afternoon, when came over a bit overcast. I thought the photo would contrast well with the haiku. I hope that it works?

All the best, Frank...

There's a mystery in this one that I find very very appealing :)

A very effective haiga, Frank. A few suggestions, if I may. Generally, in haiku, every word has to justify itself. Here, I think "moon" already says "night," making that word unnecessary. And did you consider ending on "hoot"? Ignore this if it gets in your way.

The idea of contrasting picture and verse this way is interesting. Without "night" it wouldn't work, for the moon shines in the morning too.

Best wishes
Ralf

Hi Bill, many thanks for your suggestions, which I'll give some thought to.

All the best, Frank...

Oh, it is definitely effective, Frank :)

A contrasting picture in haiga..is new to me..I think I have seen at Dalloway and Polona. I get confused when I try myself! :)

best wishes,
devika

Aside from the great haiku I love the photo Frank. The lighting is superb.

Love the link between the circle of the moon and the owl's hoot.
