I like the ku! In my opinion it could be a bit closer to the picture. It is difficult to find out the right measure (close to the picture or distant). I am a beginner in haiga - just trying making experience. I beg your pardon for bad English. I feel better in my mother language.
Thanks for your observations. It’s difficult with haiga to match a poem with an appropriate image. In this instance, I felt that the picture matched the mood of the poem. This mood matching can be very difficult to articulate. So whether it works as a whole or not is up to the observer/reader.
